Terms of Service & Copyright Policy

Last updated: 2026 · These terms are a template and have not been reviewed by counsel.

1. Acceptance

By using ArticleVault (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your content & your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the documents you upload. By uploading a document, you represent and warrant that:

You agree to indemnify and hold ArticleVault harmless from any claim arising from documents you upload.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to process content you have no right to process, or to infringe copyright or any other intellectual property right. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe.

4. Copyright & takedown (DMCA / notice-and-takedown)

ArticleVault respects intellectual property. The Service processes documents transiently and stores only your private, per-user extracted output. If you believe content infringes your copyright, send a notice including:

Send takedown notices to: [email protected] (subject: "Copyright Takedown"). We act on valid notices promptly and maintain a repeat-infringer policy.

5. Processing & third-party providers

To produce notes, documents are sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., Google Gemini and Alibaba Qwen) for processing. Depending on the method you select, processing may occur in jurisdictions including the United States, Singapore, or the European Union. If you require EU-only or no-cloud processing, select an EU-region or self-hosted option where available.

6. Privacy

We process documents only to provide the extraction you request. We do not sell your content. Uploaded documents are processed transiently and are not retained; extracted notes and figures are stored privately to your account. For details on providers' data practices, refer to their respective terms.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Extracted output may contain errors and is not a substitute for the original document or professional judgment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArticleVault is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
